  1. Eligibility Criteria:
    1.A candidate must be a citizen of India.
    2.Minimum Educational Qualifications:
    (a)A candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degreeor its equivalent from a recognized University.


    Age Limit: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 35 years on the first January-2018, meaning thereby that candidates born on or after 02/01/1997 are underage whereas applicants born on or before 01/01/1983 are overage.

     The upper age limit is relax able by five years for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes / Persons with disabilities and Children/Grand Children of Freedom Fighters of Himachal Pradesh as declared by the Govt. from time to time. Age relaxation is also available to Ex-servicemen candidates of H.P. as per provisions in Rules/ Instructions of H.P. Govt.

Exam Pattern:

There will be three stages in the HP administrative Services Combined Competitive Exam namely:

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Main Exam and
  3. Viva-Voce respectively

 

  1. Preliminary Examination:

There will be two papers of objective type in the Preliminary Examination. The questions will be based on Multiple Choice Answers on the following topics:

Paper I: General Studies (200 Marks) – 100 Questions

Paper II: Aptitude Test (200 Marks) – 100 Questions

(The marks obtained in the Paper II of Aptitude will not be counted for overall ranking.)

 

  1. Main Examination:

The candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Exam can appear in the Main Exam which will be about 20 times of the total number of vacancies. The candidates will not be issued separate call letters for the Main Exam.

  1. INTERVIEW / PERSONALITY TEST: _ 150 Marks

The candidate will be interviewed by the Commission who will have before them a record of his/her career. He / She will be asked questions on matters of general interest. The object of the interview is to assess the personal suitability of the candidate for the services or service for which he / she has applied to the Commission. The test is intended to judge the mental caliber of candidate. In broad terms, this is really an assessment of not only his / her intellectual qualities but also social traits and his / her interest in current affairs including the knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh. Some of the qualities to be judged are mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, care and logical exposition, balance of judgments, variety and depth of interest, ability for social cohesion and leadership, intellectual and moral integrity”.
